Toyota Celica
At the end of 1999 Toyota began producing 7 generation Celica. The design was very similar to XYR concept, except for the front bumper and rear spoiler. The new Celica was part of Toyota Project Genesis, created to attract young buyers in the United States. Toyota wanted to attract prospective buyers Acura Integra or Honda Civic, making the car easier and reducing cost. POWER WINDOW and door lock controls moved to the central console, reducing the number of buttons for 2-piece doors.
