History:
Alois Ruf set up shop that specialized in servicing of passenger cars under the name "AUTO-RUF" in the commune of Pfaffenhauzen in 1939.

In the 60 's for the first time have begun to tune current and obsolete car brand Porsche, mainly increased the power of the engine. Prior to 1975, the product of the firm were the only cars that could not be used in road traffic.

Since 1981, the company has received official permission to be called automobile producer and has become a trademark of RUFUS.
