How to change graphics settings in GTA 5
GTA 5 has been very well optimized so that pretty much any PC could run in. However, some players still encounter lags and freezes and wait for patches, expecting that they’ll get fixed. It’s worth mentioning that the cause for these lags can lie in your graphics settings. Regardless of how optimized the game is, you should still lower your settings if you have an old PC. So what can you do to fix the performance issues?
- Turn on the “Ignore Suggested Limits” option in the Graphics settings.
- It is recommended to use DirectX 10 to save more video memory. As for DirectX 11, it allows to change additional settings, such as MSAA, tessellation etc.
- Set the anti-aliasing to FXAA. This will provide the best performance-to- graphics ratio.
- If you have 1 Gb of video memory, set the Texture Quality to Normal. If you have 2 Gb and more, you can choose a better quality.
- Set the Reflection and Water Quality to Normal to get a higher FPS.
- Anisotropic Filtering can be set to X16 as it doesn’t affect your video memory but still makes the game look a lot better.
