I'm very wary of anything that patches the EXE file.

If Rock* anti-cheat or Valve Anti cheat decided to do sniffing around you're probably looking at a ban. Get banned from 1 Rock* game and you will be auto banned from every Rock* game. You'll have to set up a new steam account and re-purchase everything if you want to play online.

The risk is up to you. Better safe than sorry.
