Cargobob is a transport helicopter, which used just as by civilians, as by military personal, is engineered and produced by a fictional in-game American organisation Western Company, which parodies such aviation companies, as Sikorsky Aircraft, Boeing, Bell Helicopter.
Western Cargobob made it's first appearance in the Grand Theft Auto series back in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and then it disappeared without a trace. Cargobob made a comeback in GTA 5. Cargobob represents a transport tandem rotor helicopter, designed to transport both passengers (in GTA 5 it is capable of tranposrting up to 10 passengers, which makes it the first helicopter by passenger capacity in the game) and cargo and vehicles. The default variant of the helicopter, which can be bought on the Warstock Cache & Carry website for $2200000, has full black paintjob.
The helicopter Cargobob is used by a shipping company Jetsam, specializing in, well, shipping various cargo. Their variant Western Cargobob has a black and white paint job combined with Jetsam logos, placed on the fuel tanks and on the frontal motor.
Also, the helicopter Western Cargobob attracted attention of the US Army and is useby US marines, their variant of the helicopter has a classical desert camouflage. It can be found nearby Fort Zancudo. Just like the variant of Jetsam, military Cargobob is no different than a civilian in means of it's technical characteristics.
Western Cargobob is the heaviest helicopter in the game, thereof there is no need at describing it's speed, agility and acceleration. It is important to make a notice, that Cargobob can do stuff which other vehicles in GTA 5 can't. It can land on water, but the caution needed as if you land too quickly it'll drown (also if you keep it floating for too long it will be drown as well). Unlike HVY Skylift, which is capable of transporting vehicles only in the missions necessary, it can use it's grappling hook anywhere and anytime.
There is also a variant of the Cargobob helicopter with side doors closed. It was added in the "Executives, and other criminals" update. In addition to these doors it is no different from normal Cargobob.
Western Cargobob is based on such helicopters, as Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low, Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion, Boeing CH-46 Sea Knight.
