Lviv bus factory buses were considered among the best in the SOVIET UNION. It was the only company, which produced a huge range of cars at the time. In the best of times for the Laser was produced until 13rd. buses per year.

Since gaining independence, LAZ has lost its main market and a leading position in the bus industry. At the cost of enormous efforts it professionals managed to not only upgrade previous models, but also to develop a new, more modern. In 2000, LAZ has 968 buses.
