Blimp is a non-rigid airship (i.e. which lacks internal framework, so it keeps it's shape only thanks to gas inside), produced by a fictional in-game Atomic company, which is, though, based on the real Goodyear, which's specialization is tires, and it also had a Goodyear Aerospace division, which produced zeppelins and blimps.
Atomic Blimp didn't make it's appearance in any other part of the Grand Theft Auto series. Furthermore, it is the first controllable blimp in the history of GTA, and, de-facto, is the first blimp to actually appear in-game. There was a so-called The Gash Blimp in GTA: Vice City, which was responsible for exactly the same thing Atomic Blimp is - advertising, however it appears only as a scenery element, one can't even get close to it. Atomic Blimp has a blue-yellow-white paintjob and a logo of a company plus an "Tire and rubber products" underscription.
Blimp has an excellent for a blimp speed of 91 kilometres per hour, good (again, for a blimp) acceleration and an excellent manoeuvrability, akin to a manoeuvrability of a helicopter. The main con of Atomic Blimp is it's extreme fragility, it can't withstand even a single hit with an obstacle without getting exploded, and regular weapons can also easily damage it enough to take it out. There is also a blimp variant, produced by Xero petroleum company, which differs from Atomic one by it' better manoeuvrability and different painting. One can get blimps only if he/she pre-ordered the game for XBox360 and PS3, or if he/she made a return to next-generation consoles, or if he/she owns an enhanced version of the game.
Atomic Blimp is an almost identical copy of a real blimp by Goodyear - GZ-20.
